When did Close Brothers Savings first establish itself in the market?

A subsidiary of Close Brothers Ltd, we’ve been providing dedicated savings accounts to UK residents and businesses since 2007.

The savings market is pretty crowded. What sets you apart from the rest?

We are part of one of the UK’s highest rated banks, with an Aa3 credit rating from Moody’s Investors Service and an A rating from Fitch Ratings Ltd. Our customers know that their hard-earned money is safe with us.


We are also one of the few banks that offer a traditional approach to modern banking. All calls are taken in-house, we don’t hide behind automated call handling and never put our customers in call queues.

Of course, we offer some very competitive rates too!

Speaking of rates, which products are proving popular at the moment?

The number of applications we’ve had come in for notice accounts in the last few months has been astounding. Our 95 Day Notice Account for personal savers has proven extremely popular and has been consistently included in the national best buy tables.


We’re also about to launch a a 35 Day Notice Account for personal savers and a 95 Day Notice Account for businesses. If you’re interested in finding out more about any of these accounts please do get in touch.

Can members of the public access your rates directly, or do they need to apply via another channel?

If you’re looking to apply for a personal or business savings account, then you can approach us directly.


If it is a business savings account you’re looking to open, I would advise you to give our Business Development Team a call on 020 3857 3060 to talk through the options. With a range of products to suit businesses and institutions of all sizes, they will go out of their way to ensure your surplus cash works harder for you.


If you’re looking to a submit a SIPP deposit or a SSAS deposit application you will need to go through a pension administrator or registered IFA.

What other products and services do you have in the pipeline?

It’s actually a very exciting time for us. Our online banking system has just gone live, which now allows our customers to manage their accounts around the clock. It also means that customers can start applying for accounts online. Traditionally we have only accepted applications via the post, so it’s great our customers can now pick an application method that suits them.


As far as products go, I’m afraid I will have to keep the details under wraps for now. All I can say is that we have big plans for 2020, so watch this space!
