How do I pay money into my account?
You can pay money into your account by electronic transfer, cheque, or ISA transfer (if applicable).
Important to know first
All payments must come from your nominated UK bank account, unless you are making an ISA transfer.
- This is a UK current account in your name (or joint names)
- It must be linked to your Close Brothers Savings' account
- You can change your nominated account up to five days before repayment is due.
Pay by Electronic transfer
This is the fastest way to add money to your account.

Account number: Your Close Brothers Savings account number (if known) or use 00000000
Reference: Your surname and postcode
Before you send your money:
- Funds must be cleared before we can open your account
- You can pay in one single payment or multiple payments from your nominated UK bank account.
Pay by cheque
If you are paying money into a sole account, the cheque must be written from either:
- A personal UK account in your name
- A joint account you are a part of
If you are paying money into a joint account, the cheque must be written from either:
- A UK account in both names
- Either person's sole UK account
How to write the cheque:
Make it payable to:
- Close Brothers Ltd a/c 're: 'Account Holders Name'
- E.g. Close Brothers Ltd a/c 're: Mr John Smith'
