How do I close my account?

Different account types follow different steps for closure:

Easy Access Accounts

You can close this account online. To close your account:

• From the homepage, click on your Easy Access account
• Click on the 'Withdraw funds' tab
• Select the 'Close account' option and follow the on-screen instructions.

We will repay or transfer your funds by the end of the next business day.

Notice Accounts

You can close this account after completing your notice period. To request closure:

• Send a secure message through online banking by clicking on the 'Messages' tab in the top navigation
• Alternatively you can call or write to us.

Once your notice period ends, we will repay or transfer your funds and close the account.

Fixed Rate Bonds

You cannot close a Fixed Rate Bond before it matures. To close it at maturity:

• From the homepage, click on your Fixed Rate Bond account
• Go to the 'Place instruction' tab and follow the on-screen instructions.

After maturity, we will repay or transfer your money and close the account.

Fixed Rate Cash ISA

You can close this account early, but an interest penalty applies. To close your ISA early:

• From the homepage, click on your Fixed Rate Cash ISA account
• Go to the 'Close account' tab
• Select your preferred option to contact us about closing your account
• After maturity, your funds will be repaid or transferred and the account will close
• Will I be charged if I withdraw or transfer my ISA early?

To close your ISA during the maturity window:

• From the homepage, click on your Fixed Rate Cash ISA account
• Go to the 'Place instruction' tab and follow the on-screen instructions
• Your funds will be repaid or transferred and the account will close.
